Pork and Apple 'Sausage' Burgers with Celeriac Fries
Craving a burger and fries? This F&P version delivers all the satisfaction. Juicy pork and apple patties are bound with flaxseed instead of breadcrumbs, served alongside crispy baked celeriac 'fries' and a fresh green salad for a complete, guilt-free meal.
Method
- 1
Preheat your oven to 200°C (180°C fan). Peel the celeriac and cut it into fry-shaped sticks.
- 2
Toss the celeriac fries with 1 tbsp of olive oil, salt, and pepper on a baking tray. Bake for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and tender.
- 3
In a bowl, combine the pork mince, grated apple, milled flaxseed, sage, salt, and pepper. Mix well with your hands and form into two thick patties.
- 4
Heat the remaining 1 tbsp of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 6-8 minutes per side, until cooked through and nicely browned.
- 5
While the burgers and fries cook, prepare a simple side salad with the mixed leaves and a light vinaigrette.
- 6
Serve the pork and apple patties immediately with the hot celeriac fries and the fresh side salad.
